Snow, Snow and More Snow

Today, we are snowed in. The roads to get home just opened up this morning, but the driving conditions are still unsafe. So, we're staying in Colorado another day, stuck inside for the most part, hoping to start our drive home tomorrow.

We'll keep you updated. We're crossing our fingers REALLY HARD that we'll make it to the New Year's Day Family celebration.

White Holiday

We safely arrived yesterday evening in Colorado.

My dad's house is surrounded by snow. This morning we went sledding. The kids had a great time. The weather is perfect, with 40 degrees and blue skies. Tonight we have a Xmas eve party. Tomorrow, we're hosting Xmas dinner.

Wishing you a Happy Holiday!

Are You a Nerd?

Find out here.

I'm disappointed to find out that I am actually NOT a nerd. In fact, I'm a great big poser with -32 nerd points.

But, I did get extra nerd points for using a Mac.

Things I'm reading and watching

I've been having fun with learning to cook from recipes in the Rachel Ray magazine. I hear her new talk show isn't all that great. And she's featured on every box of cereal, cracker and snack food at the grocery store. Nonetheless, I like her cooking style. I can actually do it and her recipes are things my family will eat. Yummo!

I am in the middle of reading a "new" Carl Sagan book. His wife found some notes from a series of talks he did on the relationship between science and god. It's fascinating. I learned the term "natural theology". I really like it this new (for me) idea and I'm going to look into it. The book is called The Varieties of Scientific Experience.

We saw the movie Moulin Rouge for the first time this weekend. Crazy, interesting, funny, sad... it was not at all what I expected. Wasn't sure if I liked it or not after seeing it. But, in the end, I decided that overall I liked it, although certain aspects of it were over the top.

We saw Flushed Away during Thanksgiving weekend. Awesome, awesome flick. Totally would recommend it. I love English humor.

We've been watching the TV show Heroes. It's the first show I've followed for a long time. It can't rave enough about this show. Although there are things about it that make me scratch my head, I come away from each episode so ... hyped up... usually exclaiming, "OMG what a cool show!" Then I can't sleep cuz I'm thinking about all the possible explanations about what's going on.

So, that's what I've been watching and reading. How about you?
