Colorado Fun

The kids love the trampoline in my dad's backyard.

All the kids, Amy and I can all fit in the Honda Odyssey. The kids love it when we all squish in together.

The parks here have the coolest equipment. Lots of spinning things like this, and climbing things and different kinds of monkey bars. Each park is different. We've had fun exploring all the different parks available.

They have a piano here. Cameron practices/messes around on it most days.

My mom happened to be in town the same day we were. So we met up with my grandmother, my aunts, my uncle and cousins. Many of whom I hadn't seen since I was a teen.

This is my uncle Wes and I. It's been a few years since we saw each other. I'm glad my mom set this up for us all.

At the car wash. Even in Colorado, life goes on. BTW, I highly recommend the car wash here in Highlands Ranch. Probably the best car wash and service I've ever had.

We went swimming at the local rec center. It's an indoor kid water park. This is a picture of Meg and I on the "rapids". There was a pirate island and a 2in. deep area and a rope crossing. Pretty nifty place. The kids are planning on going back again next week, whether us adults want to or not.

For my birthday yesterday, the kids and Amy made me brownies. Thanks guys!

Some more stuff we've been up to

Megan loves baby Vinnie. A few weeks ago during our visit to Aunt Heather's and Uncle Mikes, Megan was excited to have a chance to cuddle with him.

On Sundays, we sometimes head over to Game Empire in Pasadena to play Pokemon. It's hard to tell who likes pokemon more - Cam, Allison or Yoshi.

At the homeschooling conference in Ontario, Megan plays with homemade play-doh.

At the Ontario conference, Alli and Cam's favorite room was the Keva plank room. At one point, all the kids built a cocoon around Allison. Oh, it was Yoshi's favorite room too.

They had her nearly completely enclosed. When the cocoon had about an inch opening left, Allison burst out of it and Keva planks flew everywhere.

During the conference, I presented three times. My mom came out on Sunday and with the impromptu help of Yoshi's mom, they hosted the grandparents' panel.

The following weekend we went up to Sacramento for the HSC conference. One of the workshops was a toy factory. The girls had a great time taking spare toy parts and painting them.

Soon after, we headed to the Little Pet Shop/Polly Pocket/My Little Pony session. This was a big hit. We could have spent all weekend in this room, and the girls would have been happy.

We also spent a lot of time on the game deck. Well, when I say "we", I mean the kids and Yoshi. Yoshi spent a lot of time with the kids while I worked. During my downtime, I was out there a bit too (enough to get this picture of Cam and Allison playing Jenga with a new friend).

Yoshi was able to play a little Pokemon and trade cards with the kids at the conference, so I don't think he minded spending so much time on the game deck.

Colorado

We just arrived in Colorado. My dad had back surgery Monday, and he came home this afternoon. We arrived a few hours later. He's doing well. In good spirits. I'm watching 5 of the 6 kids while my Amy is at urgent care with Daniel. He cut his head at school today. I can tell that Amy and the kids are going to keep me busy while we're here. It was a great drive. We made it in two days, easy. The kids were great. The weather was perfect. I love road trips. We're just missing one thing. We left him back in Burbank. And we won't see him again until Sept. 13th :(

Some stuff we've been up to

Cameron went to a cool summer camp. It was a "Space and Rocketry" camp. The last day of the progam we met him out at Valley College to watch him shoot his rocket up into the air.

There it is, up in the air.

Mom and Carl joined us for a day at the OC Fair. Cameron went on a lot of rides. Megan went on some too (in fact, Meg's in this picture, hiding behind Cam). Allison had an upset tummy after the first one, and decided she wasn't up to going on anymore.

Megan enjoyed playing in the sand before we watched the juggler.

Allison lost her tooth while we were at the Fair. Allison likes to lose her teeth when my mom's around.

We joined our friend Melissa and her kids Nicholas and Shannon at a neighborhood waterpark. We were there for 6 hours! The kids had a blast. And we all got sunburned. Woot!

At our last haircut, Allison decided to dye her hair red. It looks really cool!
