My dad just called me and said he's heading back to the hospital. They are going to open up the incision, and try to find the infection.
He's had an infection (they are saying staph, but aren't 100% sure) for a couple of weeks. He's been taking strong antibiotics for over a week. The fevers aren't going away. So they are going to go in and see if they can find where the infection is.
This is one of the possible complications of such an intricate surgery. So I'm not worried or all that surprised. But it's my dad. And I don't want him to have to go through anymore. So, to the bacteria I say, "Away with you!"
Hopefully, it'll be a quick, easy thing. They go in, capture some infectious bad guys, identify them, then get the right antibiotics in my dad's IV. All will be well, and everyone lives happily ever after.
My dad is recovering from his surgery and from his infection.
They gave him a stint, and he has to take IV meds every 8 hours. Other than that, he seems to be back on Recovery Road. Woot!
He'll be on the staph meds for 2-6 weeks. It doesn't seem like a serious infection, but they are treating it as such so it doesn't spread. He's going back to the doc on Tues. to see how it's doing.
My dad has developed a staph infection. He's back in the hospital. I'm so pissed at the universe right now.
Well, after three years of having Lappy, I decided it was time to give it a bath.
I got some iKlear from the Apple store today. (And no, the new iPods are not out yet, in case you were wondering.) I cleaned the screen, keys and aluminum case both inside and out. (Didn't clean the track pad. The instructions specifically told me not to!)
The iKlear took of a few smudges on my screen that I thought were scratches. Yippee!
Then I gave Lappy a makeover by putting on an iSkin keyboard (does EVERY Apple product start with a little i and then a capital letter?) This iSkin is awesome! My keys were getting a serious beating. I could see through a couple of them to the interior of the computer. With my new iSkin, my keys are much happier. And there is no difference in typing speed or needing to put extra pressure on the keys to get them to go. Very nice design. I'm impressed.
So now, the new and improved Lappy is groomed and ready to go out on the town. Go, go Lappy!
